Lisbon Speakers is a two day event that gathers established and emerging Portuguese and international poets and spoken word artists to deliver a set of performances, bringing together in different stages poetry readings, spoken word, poetry slam and concerts. It is a collective poetic act that looks attentively at new artistic languages to bring the city closer to spoken word poetry and poets who take the urban stage in a meaningful way.
The first edition was held in June 2014. Stage performances were held in the street, inside Musicbox and Povo and, for two days, they brought together poets, writers, spoken word artists, musicians and singers in a celebration of the written, spoken and sung word.
